A KVM switch allows an operator to conveniently control and manage multiple devices, such as PCs and servers, from a single keyboard, mouse and display console.
This advanced KVM Switch has been designed for use with PCs and Macs. It features DVI single link video ports and a two port USB 2.0 hub for connecting and sharing your peripherals. With full audio support, you can also connect your speakers and microphone.
The switch occupies only a single 1U space in a 19” rack and supports screen resolutions of up to 1920x1200, great for ensuring optimum clarity if used in digital media or graphic design scenarios. It provides 2 simple switching modes, via keyboard hotkeys and front panel buttons.
A local console can be connected to the 2 USB and DVI ports on the rear panel while the built-in 2 port USB 2.0 hub allows you to save money on additional devices by sharing peripherals between the connected computers. The unique switching arrangement allows the USB hub and the Audio ports to be switched independently of the PCs for uninterrupted listening, printing, scanning or external drive access. Options can be accessed only via keyboard hotkeys.
LED indicators show status of connected computers and selected channel. The switch supports digital and analogue signals via DVI-I ports but it doesn't convert video signals; it only switches between all digital or all analogue signals. If used with analogue signals, the device supports VGA resolutions up to 2048x1536.
Please Note: connection cables are not included. DVI, USB A to B, and 3.5mm microphone and speaker cables are required for each connected computer. The maximum supported distance for USB, using standard cables, is 5m. For distances over 5m, use a Lindy USB Active Extension Cable.
The Lindy KVM Over IP Extender system allows users to control a source device such as a PC or PVR through a standard IP network. This receiver unit must be connected to a transmitter unit (No. 38264 _ not included) to create a standard point to point control system, with a maximum distance of 150m (492,12ft). It's also possible to set up a distributed control system (One to Many configuration) which allows a single device connected to a Transmitter Unit (No. 38264 - not included) to be controlled by several consoles each connected to this receiver via a dedicated Ethernet switch or VPN.
This extender system includes a convenient IR (25 to 56kHz) repeating system to allow for the dedicated use of a remote control from the console side. This is a typical solution for security system management (PVR management or control rooms), or remote server administration (KVM switch remote control) as well as AV signals over IP extension for distributed monitoring of industrial facilities.
