4 pieces of EVA foam with single sided self-adhesive
Customizable - cut to size as required
Ideal for installing 7mm or 7.5mm HDDs into standard 2.5” hard drive enclosures designed for 9.5mm high HDD
These Self-adhesive Foam Pads fill the space between a drive and the drive enclosure, cutting down on the possible range of movement of a drive and therefore reducing the risk of damage to the drives SATA connection.
SSD/HDDs vary in depth - either 7 or 7.5mm - leaving a relatively large amount of space for them to move in a 2.5" drive enclosure or housing.
Overtime, everyday knocks or movement can fatigue an unsecured drive's connection to the rest of the PC, causing the connection to fail and - in a worse case scenario - damage the SATA connection pins making the drive virtually inoperable.
By filling the gap between the drive and the housing with a foam pad you can cushion the drive and help reduce the risk of damage to it or its connections.
Additional benefits of installing these pads include some reduction in vibration transmissions from HDDs, helping cut down on general running noise. Dimensions (each piece) 10x9.5x2.5mm (WxDxH).
Converter for 2.5" hard drives and SSDs with 22/29-pole SATA Backplane connection
Fits into every standard 3,5" slot with screw fixing on the underside
Also fits into any 3.5" SATA Backplane - has identical dimensions and connections as a 3.5" SATA HDD
Supports SATA hard drives and SSDs with installation heights of up to 15mm
Converter with latching lever and automatic ejection mechanism
Simply install this adapter frame and converter into the 3.5" slot on your desktop or you can use it like a 3.5" drive in a 3.5" converter!
2.5" drives only need a fraction of the energy needed by a 3.5" drive and a voltage supply of just 5V instead of 5V and 12V. They generate considerably less heat and are considerably quieter when running.
As this adapter frame has the same dimensions and SATA connections as a 3.5" SATA hard drive, it can be used just like a 3,5" SATA drive - this solution uses considerably less energy and produces less heat and noise.
Many PC enclosures allow you to attach 3.5" format hard drives and converters on the underside. This is also possible for this converter.
With converter housings where only side screw attachment is possible, this converter does not have the screw attachment at the same positions as a 3.5" drive: the 3 threaded holes on the side have a clearance from the bottom of 6mm instead of 5mm, only the hole at the extreme rear has the same clearance from the front edge (115 mm); the two front holes however have a clearance of 25 and 85 mm from the front edge.
If 1mm of space is available above the slot, this allows the converter to usually only be attached with the threaded holes at the rear.
Where this is not possible, you can use the LINDY converter No.20969 (max. drive height of 7.5 mm) with standard side attachment instead
