Home » Recycling Your Batteries
To comply with this legislation, you are legally obliged to return or correctly dispose of batteries. As a consumer you can return batteries to a local collection centre free of charge. Batteries and accumulators containing hazardous materials are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol and may not be disposed of with household waste.
Batteries, which contain particularly hazardous pollutants such as cadmium, mercury or lead, are additionally marked with the appropriate chemical symbol ("Cd" for cadmium, "Hg" for mercury, "Pb" for lead,). All collected batteries and accumulators are recycled.
